How does BOTOX®Cosmetic work?

During treatment, very low does of BOTOX®Cosmetic are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles responsible for frown lines between the brows. By blocking the release of a chemical that causes these muscles to contract, BOTOX®Cosmetic enables them to relax. the effects are very localized and when administered by an experienced physician, do not affect your ability to smile, laugh, or otherwise show expression. What are the common side effects?

The most common side effects following injections include temporary eyelid droop and nausea. Localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising may be associated with the injection. Patients with certain neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects.

Is there any chance of serious side effects?

Serious heart problems and serious allergic reactions have been reported rarely. If you think you have an allergic reaction or other unusual symptoms, such as difficulty swallowing, speaking, or breathing, call your doctor immediately.

What is the treatment like?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a quick and minimally invasive procedure consisting of a few tiny injections. Your doctor will determine exactly where to administer these injections to achieve the best results for you. No anesthesia is required, though he or she may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to injecting.

The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes, and there is no downtime afterward. Discomfort is minimal and brief. Localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising may be associated with the injection.

VelaSmooth™ uses combined energies known as elos to precisely target and heat fatty tissues within the treatment area. In addition, the vacuum and tissue manipulation evens out the skin to reveal a smoother, tighter figure.

How quickly will I notice a change?

Gradual improvement of the treated area can be seen following the first treatment - with the skin surface of the treated area feeling smoother, firmer and tighter. Results in circumference and cellulite reduction will be most apparent 6-8 weeks following the final treatment session.

How many inches can I reduce from my circumference?

LASER ACNE TREATMENT

How does laser treatment work??

Smoothbeam laser treatment employs a patented LASR™ (Laser assisted skin renewal) process to safely target and heat collagen in the upper dermis, stimulating new collagen formation. New Collagen can improve the appearance of atrophic acne scars by reducing the depth and softening the edges of the scar.

Are there risks or side-effect?

Medical lasers such as the Smoothbeam have been safely used for more than 20 years to treat medical and cosmetic skin conditions. In general, most procedures have a low risk of side effects. More aggressive treatments might induce some temporary discoloration or reddening of the skin. Some Patients might experience slight changes in skin color. If this occurs, the will typically return to normal pigmentation over time.

What can I expect after treatment?

Mild redness is usually seen immediately after the procedure and typically subsides in a few hours. Some patients report seeing improvement in their scars after a few treatments. Results vary with each patient; you should discuss your expectations with your practitioner.

What will the treatment be like?

Treatment will take place in your provider's office. You will wear safety eyewear to protect your eyes from the laser light. The laser will be guided to the treatment areas with a small handheld probe. Each laser pulse is preceded by a short pulse cooling spray. Depending on the size of the treated area, sessions last from 10 to 20 minutes.

Does it hurt?

How should I care for my skin after treatment?

After laser treatment, you should avoid rigorous scrubbing of the treated area. Cleanse the treated are gently. Be sure to avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen during the course of your treatment. Your practitioner may advise additional precautions.

How many treatments will I need?

After the first session, you will be seen for a follow-up evaluation. The number of subsequent treatments depends on the anatomical location of the scars, their depth, and the desired results. Treatments may be performed every three to five week.

What do I need to do before treatment?

Your skin should be thoroughly cleaned to remove any makeup, creams, or oils on its surface before the laser procedure. You should avoid sun exposure for two weeks before and after the laser treatment.
